This can be great if you start to get burnt out with the game as it adds a lot of different mechanics and radically changes the way the Geoscape plays. Long War 2 is great, but very much alters the way the game is played. I think put it best: 'War of the Chosen is the new massive expansion to XCOM 2, and is more of a total overhaul of the base game than a traditional expansion.' So much new content including The Lost, soldier fatigue without mods, bonding, new buildings, personality traits, 'hero' faction units, new enemies, bosses, balances Alien Rulers, and so much more. WOTC takes what made the vanilla game good and makes it 10/10 amazing.

Really though they are just two entirely different experiences. I really like LW2 as well, so that's a glowing endorsement.
